Hailing from Bells Beach, Australia – one of world surfing’s most famous spots – singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Xavier Rudd is already an established artist in Australia and his second home, Canada.

Now Rudd is poised to conquer Europe with his third album, White Moth; working for the first time with an outside producer – Dave Ogilvie (David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, N.E.R.D.) – Rudd has found a sounding board for his ideas, focusing the ecstatic improvisations of his live set into beautiful narratives of the spiritual journeys we take in our everyday lives. “Better People” pays homage to the grassroots activists, the people who put their bodies between the whalers and the whales, while songs like the haunting “Anni Kookoo” examine the alienation of colonized peoples.

On other tracks, Ogilvie has unleashed the fierce groove that propels songs like “Footprint.” With songwriting and production that now match the adrenalin of his live performance Xavier Rudd will reach the audience his intensely spiritual music deserves.
